Damibu, a digital technology studio based in Liverpool, is committed to taking on projects that deliver significant social value. Participation in support programmes like Mettle, Shift, and most recently the Beyond Programme has assisted CEO Dave Burrows and his team in refining their direction and securing essential funding.
Where they were at
Since 2011 Damibu have been developing innovative digital health platforms for the NHS and public sector. The business had grown and evolved through successfully delivering ever-bigger projects and wanted to seize the opportunities they saw to transform content management on a wider scale.
Why Gather?
“We had a vision to transform the way information is digitally consumed and needed support to get the right strategy in place to do that.”
Dave and the team had weathered the pandemic with a little help from the Mettle and Shift programmes, and had challenges specific to their business they thought the Beyond programme could support them with.
How Gather helped
Damibu had completed various projects for the NHS and saw the opportunity to scale their unique content syndication platform ‘Damibu Feeds’. They had secured Phase 1 funding but needed to project plan to secure Phase 2 funds.
Their Beyond consultant, Hanna, played a pivotal role in providing firm clarity on the direction they wished to take the business, helping them align around a future-focused strategy.
Results and the future
“The Gather support has been key to us clarifying our direction and funding requirements for the next 3-5 years.”
Since completing Beyond, Damibu have secured Phase 2 SBRI Healthcare funding to tackle health inequalities in maternity care by helping the NHS to accurately create and distribute content that is customised for cultural nuance and understanding.
The continued growth of the business has also seen Damibu featured on the 2024 Liverpool City Region Tech Climbers list. We can’t wait to see what else the future holds for Damibu.
