Where did life take you before joining the team?
Well I’ve got a hugely varied background! I started out studying for a Law degree and a PhD in Theology & Philosophy followed. Since then I’ve provided freelance financial and admin support to small businesses, hosted a podcast for a leadership consultancy, and been a Hub Director for a theology college – as well spending some time as a full-time mum.
What attracted you to Gather?
It’s an incredible culture – based around high productivity, values of clarity and feedback, and the desire to see growth in the individual. My PhD was focused on the interplay between values and practices, so it’s a culture that really interests and appeals to me.
What projects are working on at the moment?
We’ve been busy designing and mobilising the autumn phase of programme delivery. It’s great to be supporting leaders in the creative and tech sector in the region and there are lots of exciting events and programmes on the horizon.
What keeps you busy outside of work?
Three young boys aged between one and seven keep me pretty busy! Me and my husband love food and love to cook and I spend a lot of time in the garden – I’m definitely an amateur but get a lot of fulfilment from seeing beautiful things grow.
Any good book or podcast recommendations?
The Don’t Buy Her Flowers podcast hosted by business owner Steph Douglas is great. She’s a mum of three who holds space for conversation around the ever evasive ‘balance’ and how to navigate work with a young family. I also love The Therapy Edit podcast by psychotherapist and mum of three Mathur. Give it a listen if you’re interested in addressing dialogue around personal growth, showing up in the family home, and navigating work/life tensions.
