MGISS are a growing tech business based in the Baltic Triangle. Managing Director, Mike Darracott, had a vision for the company but needed support to find the right path. Since attending Mettle and Shift, Mike and MGISS have secured valuable innovation funding and are primed for growth.
Where they were at
MGISS deliver location intelligence and insight services that help businesses increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve safety. Now a team of ten, the company has developed over the past 8 years from a small consultancy to a growing business who partner with the likes of Northumbrian Water, Sir Robert McAlpine and Wales and West Utilities.

As a leader of a developing team, Mike wanted support to transition from working in the business to working on it, help in thinking to reposition the business, and to connect with more people in the City Region.

Results
Since the Mettle and Shift programmes, MGISS have secured £55k funding from the Future Innovation Fund. By exploring their purpose they identified new potential to better address global challenges around sustainability and tech for good, which has accelerated their growth.

The Future
MGISS are already seeing significant growth from honing their focus. The start of 2021 will see the business recruiting new key staff with a plan for the end of 2021 to secure further investment to help them meet global demands.
